It’s our Centennial this year in Airdrie, Alberta, Canada. We wanted to do something to get people spreading the word. We thought of lots of different ideas to create a buzz and have people come and visit our fair city, but in the end, nothing tops the allure of COLD HARD CASH!
It was with this thought in mind that Jamie ( The Grand Poobah at Airdrie’s radio station,“The Range 106.1 FM” ) and Al ( Promotional think tank specialist at "Here’s the Scoop" ) decided to come up with a contest and attempt to give away Gobs of Cash! Thus the "Centennial Cash Contest" was born.
The plan is to qualify 106 people for an invite where 3 will be chosen out of the 106 for a chance to win $75,000 US dollars each. (Yes US dollars... we don’t know how much that will be in Canadian dollars, but it will be lots). That's a total of $225,000 US dollars we’re trying to give away folks.
So How do you Qualify? And How Are You Chosen?
This is a two part contest. 2 finalists will be chosen out of 105 qualifiers via radio promotions on "The Range 106.1 FM" and community events and promotions through "Here’s the Scoop". We’re not going to tell you exactly how we’we'll be qualifying people because we honestly don’t know ourselves. We’re just winging it folks... really. One of the hosts on "The Range" might just get an urge to give away a qualifying invitation. Or some could be given away at various community events being sponsored or covered by "The Range" or "Here's the Scoop". Still others could be given away via draws made from time to time from ballots found in weekly copies of "Here’s the Scoop". All we know is that we have to give away 105 qualifying invitations by September 10th and that the only way you have a chance for one of those 105 coveted invites is to tune into "The Range 106.1 FM" or to keep reading your weekly copy of "Here’s the Scoop". Once we have 105 of the 106 qualifiers, they will all be invited to a big Centennial Bash to not only celebrate our Centennial. but to also participate in a reverse draw. The reverse draw will be held so that we can narrow down the 105 qualifiers to just 2 contestants, who will participate in a game of wits in an attempt to to each take home $75,000 US dollars.
UMMM... you said 106 qualifiers and 3 contestants. What about the 106th qualifier and
3rd contestant?
Awww yeah!!! This would be the second part of the contest. The internet part. This is for all you internet junkies. The 106th qualifier, is also the third guaranteed contestant to attempt to win $75,000 US dollars. What you have to do is link to us on your Facebook, MySpace, company website, family web page, Nexopia or any other site live on the web. Now we’re not mind readers, so you’you'll have to pop us an email at alioops2000@shaw.ca and tell us where you linked to us (So that we can check) We also need your name, address and phone number. If you link to just one, you get one entry. If you link to two, you get two entries. If you link to three you get three entries. If you link to all four, then you get four entries. Linking instructions are on the left. If you link to us on more than one site, you get entries for those as well. So say you were a real internet junkie and placed all four links on Facebook, MySpace, Nexopia and a bunch of others I can’t even think of totaling 10 sites. You would get 4 links x 10 sites = 40 entries.
What About Referrals?
Yup... we LOVE it when people share. So if you share this contest with others, tell them to tell us that it was you who referred them to link to us. For every entry they get, so will you. So if they link to us 4 times then they get 4 entries and you get 4 entries. We will have prizes for those with the most entries at the end of the contest.
